Technology

TORAY PRIMEFLEX™

The flex is in the spiral yarn. This configuration gives the fabric a built-in mechanical stretch that goes to all 360 degrees of adventure. Thanks to this technology, the fabric will stretch and recover without using heavier water-absorbing elastics like Spandex. Upshot: outstanding breathability, abrasion resistance and a softer feel against your skin. All this at 40% the weight of the old school stretchy stuff. PrimeFlex is both eco and techno. The fabric is partially made from a corn-based material that uses less water during processing. There’s comfort from mile one to mile one hundred.

TRIPURE™ ELASTIC

Tripure is a high tech nano fiber that delivers incredible comfort and performance. The Benchmarks are superior stretch and recovery and fined-tuned temperature regulation. Dries quickly, anti-microbial, static free and durable beyond all normal expectations. The humble waistband gets its 15 minutes of athletic fame.

    Likely my end game workout shorts going forward

    Prior to purchasing these, my go-to workout and casual wear shorts have been Pace Breakers from Lululemon. While comfortable and lightweight, I feel like their durability has become a lot more questionable for their price point.

    Initial impressions of the Graves PX short has been extremely positive so far and I basically don't notice them despite how much stuff I'm carrying. I had low expectations for the back phone pocket but it just works really, really well for a standard sized iPhone. Everything about their construction looks and feels to be extremely high quality between the YKK zippers and the primeflex material. These may be my new daily short going forward.

    Anecdotally, if you come from a lifting background and have bigger thighs then I'd get the Relaxed Fit. My quads measure at about 25-26" and I would expect the Classic Fit to be a bit too tight.

    Marathon Ready

    Ran the Vegas Marathon in these and they performed incredibly well; light, breathable, and built for serious miles. The relaxed fit gives great range of motion and the fabric holds up well even through long desert miles. I just wish they had a touch more stretch or a slightly bigger split for extra freedom on the stride.

    Still, these shorts are dialed in for comfort, storage, and durability. Paired with my Tahoe CL liners, it was an awesome setup from start to finish. Another win from PATH Projects.

    Good, but sizing is odd.

    The material and pockets are great and functional. The pocket zippers with close down are great so that when you're using them they will not open. I typically order a medium as my waist is a 33 and I'm thin and 6'3", but the shorts were way to small. I returned for large with the relax fit and they fit well. Although, it was one price with the original order and had to pay to exchange the shorts. Having dialed in the size I would get another pair.
