Jeff Miller Silver Bay, MN - PATH projects KREW
I grew up in Southern Minnesota where I fell into running in junior high school and have been training and racing every since. Now in the second half of my 50's with grown children, grandchildren and with healthier joints and muscles than I had in my teens and twenties, I am absolutely convinced that with God's blessing, good training and nutrition our bodies are made to move. Use it or lose it.
The trail running community is such a supportive and uplifting collection of amazing people that I want to spend my energy encouraging and supporting the sport, community and individuals as much as possible. I love running, runners and trail runners hold a special place in my heart! I am a competitive ultra runner and professionally a full time running coach with most of my athletes being trail ultrarunners. I started training for ultramarathons at 48 and did my first 100 mile run at the Superior Fall Trail Race 100 at 50 years old. After the first time I ran on the Superior Hiking Trail I was in love. By the time I finished that first 100 mile race both my wife and I started dreaming about how we could spend more time on the SHT. Jump ahead 6 years now and we live a couple of blocks from a Spur Trail which we help maintain along with being Trail Adopters of 7 miles of the Superior Hiking Trail.
Running accomplishment(s) you are proud of
I am most proud of twice winning the Grand Master Division at the Superior Fall Trail Race 100 Mile. To win the Grand Master Division there two out of four starts is something that for me is extremely satisfying.
Any races or adventures on your horizon and / or bucket list?
This year Memorial Day Weekend I will be attempting to establish a FKT on the Superior Hiking Trail, this FKT will be dubbed the Sawtooth Double, consisting of running the Superior 100 Mile Endurance Run course and then returning to the start location, roughly 208 miles in total. I also plan to run the Superior Fall Trail Race 100 Mile this September with a goal of a sub 24 hour finish on a very technical course.
Your favorite PATH projects gear?
PATH base liner and shorts are my favorite because of the ability to select different sizes for the two pieces!
What do you enjoy about running?
Running excites me because when I am running I can let go of all the rest of life. Running is a time when I can let emotions and feelings out regardless if those feelings are stress and frustration or unbridled joy and passion. Running trails is time with God in personal conversation.

Connect with a coach that knows the type of running you are want to do and runner you are.
