Brandon Miller, Pittsburgh, PA - PATH projects KREW
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. I've been running for nearly 6 years now. In 2017, I started running trails and immediately decided I wanted to run my first marathon and 50K. Trail and ultra running is a definite passion of mine. It's a sense of freedom.
Additionally, I'm a dog dad to two golden doodles. One of which actually runs almost every run with me, and just became an ultra runner this year. Outside of running, I’m an IT Consultant (specializing in Salesforce) working for a Pharma consultancy company. I thoroughly enjoy the freedom of my job through the flexibility with work hours and being remote.
Running accomplishment(s) you are proud of
Every. Damn. Run. Sometimes, it can be tough to remember where you started. It wasn’t long ago that I could run a mile. Now, I’m running distances that I didn’t even know were possible. It still blows my mind at times.
Any races or adventures on your horizon and / or bucket list?
This Year: Mohican 50M, Burning River 50M, Twisted Branch 100K. Near Future: R2R2R
Your favorite PATH projects gear?
Crest Shorts - the fit! These are an absolute game changer for us runners with larger legs. They fit perfectly and they don’t tear apart like the other brands.
What do you enjoy about running?
The freeing feeling that it brings to me mentally. It puts me in a place that helps me remember that everything is going to be okay.
Advice for runners looking to improve?
Find what works for you. I think the biggest mistake runners can make is not learning to listen to their body and mind. Most runners, especially beginners, are always seeking advice from other runners. While, this can be helpful, it doesn’t mean the advice you receive will work best for yourself. You have to get out there and try different things, learn for yourself, and most importantly learn what your body and mind are saying to you.
