I have ran 100s of miles in these shorts now and give a detailed review. These are the best shorts I have ever used for running long distances on street and trail runs based upon what I look for in a running short. For my preference, I must have a running short with a built in storage in my waistband for four collapsible 250 ml hydro flasks and other small items, and the short must NOT have a liner.

The four 250ml flasks I always carry in the front of the waistband. If I were to carry a flask in the back the shorts waistband, the shorts bounce a little too much for my liking. I have however notice this on every single other running short with a built in waist storage. It could just be a personal preference that may bother me but not someone else. The drawstring in the front does help keep the shorts tight with weight in the front and running high intensity. I carry lighter items (2ml gel, individually wrapped wet wipes, two uncrustables, and an extra gel) in the back of the waistband which don't cause any issues. My phone and car key I keep in base layer (which I get from another company).

The second appealing aspect of these shorts is that they are NOT lined. Almost every single company, including the biggest in the world, only has running shorts with a liner. When running long distances, chafing is a serious issue and having a liner that works for you is a lifesaver. A liner of your preference can also help with comfortably carrying other items. I’m a Clydesdale runner and I have type 1 Diabetes. These shorts did a pretty darn good job handling my snacks, phone, hat, 500ml water flask, extra headlamp batteries, and my car keys. My only complaint is the one big pocket allows everything to move around. The seperate short and liner system performed very well in a hot humid Louisiana night trail run. I had no chafe issues and restrictions on my thunder thighs even though I was testing the size limits on the XL shorts.
