Jesse Cardoza, San Juan Capistrano, California - PATH projects KREW
My name is Jesse Cardoza. I’m a trail runner from San Juan Capistrano. I’ve been running for about four years. I picked up running a year after I quit smoking in an effort to try to reverse some of the damage I’d done to my health. My casual running quickly turned into an obsession and I couldn’t be more stoked on where I am today because of it. The trail running community is filled with some of the coolest, supportive and encouraging people I’ve ever met and I’m extremely grateful to have found a second family in my local trail running group. They’re a bunch of dirt bags but I love em’ 😉
Running accomplishment(s) you are proud of
9th place at Black Canyon 100k. I entered this race to see how I’d stack up in a very competitive ultra and did surprisingly well!
Any races or adventures on your horizon and / or bucket list?
Going back to Black Canyon 100k in February. And some unfinished business at San Diego 100mile in June. And I’m sure much more.
Your favorite PATH projects gear?
The Wildcat AT 3” short because I like to show some thigh.
What do you enjoy about running?
The sense of accomplishment no matter the length of the run. Life’s always better after a good run.
Advice for runners looking to improve?
Listen to your body. It’s not all about pushing through no matter what.
